People are at the very centre of everything we teach and practice. Valuing new members and supporting existing ones is an essential element to the club culture. Nothing is more important than helping people develop.
Our 100+ club members are drawn from all walks of life and offer a mixed range of ages and abilities. We all laugh a lot and enjoy each other's company; maybe that's the secret to why the club has grown so large over the past 25 years, with 6 venues in the Bristol and Bath area, and a thriving junior group.
Karate is a complex subject. All clubs and styles offer something a little different. Our approach is to encourage a relaxed and sensitive body enabling our students to use the attackers energy to their advantage. We believe overt power and domination are not the most effective ways to deal with confrontation. It's all about remaining calm under pressure and using your body effectively.
Experience tells us the hardest thing for most people is making that first step. We want to make that as easy for you as possible. If you live in Bristol, Bath or the surrounding areas, you are invited to attend a month of lessons absolutely free and without any obligation to join. This allows you the opportunity to meet us and at least get a flavour of what we do.
Of course, martial arts training can be a physically demanding activity, but, at the risk of stating the obvious, we recognise and respect everyone as an individual, with their own personal strengths and weaknesses. Progress and fitness are entirely at your own pace, we are there to encourage you, not wipe the floor with you!
